I still wonder why Gwinnett needs a tank. I hate that thing. _________________

LOL - not sure if it is what Gwinnett "needs" as much as "wants". And why not? It was given to the department!
I think it's pretty darn cool - I can't wait to drive it!!

To my knowledge, they do not have a tank. This is an armored reconnaissance vehicle. _________________ Knowledge will find you

Do you have insurance for doing that kind of work? _________________ I am not moving. It is time to make a stand. This area is great, and with a little effort from all of us can stay that way. |

Yeah, I remember when we first got that thing. UGLY! And I'm aware that it was given to us, but still. It seems to be a money pit. So is the other one. That thing has been a nitemare! lol _________________

I got your point, but please dont let that stop you from whining. The chicks really dig a guy that is in touch with his emotions you know.
Guardian, my new insurace premiums has increased 4 fold. I was offered the opportunity to continue with my reduced premium, provided that I sever any association with LE. It has been my experience where doing the right thing has not always been the least expensive route. Since (at least) 2/3 of the work performed on Gwinnett's machine has been donated, the "money pit" as it has been called, has been two times greater for me than it has for the tax payers of your county. _________________ Knowledge will find you

I just realized that they have "SO165" on the tank. That's Kenneth Wimberly's SO number. How cool is that??
Not sure why the 3048 though. Anyone know if that number has any significance? _________________ Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. |

It's not a tank, it's an armored personnel carrier. It was "free" but has had to be upgraded to meet the needs of today's call outs. Whatever the cost, it has saved lives so it's well worth the expense. I love the addition of the camera system. How cool is that - I understand that it will be able to beam pictures to the new command center. Outstanding! |

the 3048 is the unit number. We use that at the shop to look up the history on the vehicle of work done at Fleet, or we use it to write it up for work to be done. Its a Fleet thang! _________________
